A lot of things happened since the World Championships, specifically with the male sprinters:
The French broke the world record in Moscow during the European Sprinter Cup with a total of three times faster than Theo Bos’ old record. Kevin Sireau is the new record holder with 9.572 s and 9.650 s, but also also world champion Greg Bauge was faster with 9.654.
We also saw two more riders entering the sub 10 s club, both setting new national records: Jimmy Watkins, USA (9.86 s) at the PanAm games in Mexico City and Mathias Stump, Germany (9.921 s) also at the European Sprinter Cup in Moscow.
